Semesters: 2 Credits: 1 Grade: 10-12 Pre-requisite: Successful completion of 3D Modeling, Digital Art course or teacher approval PRIOR to enrollment. In this course students will use software (Maya, Blender, SketchUp, etc.) to solve variety of 3 dimensional design problems on the college level by selecting an area of concentration and developing a portfolio to submit to The College Board for Advanced Placement credit. This portfolio is intended to engage with physical space and materials. Here you should demonstrate your understanding of design principles as they relate to depth and space. The principles of design (unity/variety, balance, emphasis, contrast, rhythm, repetition, proportion/scale, and occupied/unoccupied space) can be articulated through the visual elements (mass, volume, color/light, form, plane, line, texture).
Breadth - 16 images of 8 works
(2 views of each) A variety of works demonstrating your understanding of three dimensional design. |
Concentration - 12 images
(some may be details) A series describing an in-depth exploration of a particular design concern or idea. |
Quality - 10 images of 5 works
(2 views of each) 2 Images of 5 works that demonstrate your mastery of 3D design. |
